“I was trained in Western medicine to be able to prescribe medicine when needed, but my true passion lies in helping people achieve optimal health without having to take medication,” he said. “I practice with a strong focus on nutrition, exercise, and preventative medicine.”

Matt is a Medford native who graduated from Southern Oregon University with a degree in biochemistry, and a minor in Spanish. After a short stint as an analytical chemist, he went on to complete his bachelors and doctoral degrees in nursing from the University of Portland. He spent nearly a decade at La Clinica and helped open their Wellness Center. He served as the Wellness Center’s medical director for 6 years, and during his tenure he developed and taught classes for all of La Clinica’s patients including cooking and nutrition, art, exercise, and substance abuse recovery. In 2020 his hard work was recognized by the Oregon Primary Care Association and he received the Innovation and Leadership in Transformation award.

In addition to a passion for medicine, Matt also has a creative and entrepreneurial spirit. He and his wife have small businesses in Ashland as well as Northern California. As a virtual provider for the Complete Care team, he is able to balance his familial, and entrepreneurial worlds, while continuing the practice preventative medicine.

Matt and his wife have three children and live in Ashland. He enjoys creative building projects, whitewater rafting, playing soccer, running, biking, gardening, traveling, and generally having a good time.
